When we close our eyes to this world for the last time
And we go on to meet our maker
Regardless of what religion we follow or don't follow
Books we read or don't read
Prayers we recite or don't recite
Regardless of the country we were born in
The families we were born into
The amount of money we leave behind
Or the debts we might have had
We are asked two simple questions
- How did you live a life that expanded love on Earth?
- How did you leave the world better by being there?
What if all of our beliefs are simply tools to usher us in the right direction? You choose the tools that help YOU get the job done. As long as the end result is a good life lived, does it matter what you picked out of the toolbox?
What if all of the world’s faith systems were created and brought forth during different ‘seasons’ on earth, to give guidance through times of difficulty and change? As we mature spiritually and socially – we can handle more spiritually and socially. You don’t teach a baby to eat a filet of steak out the womb – they couldn’t handle it.
What if it isn’t about what you call it? – but the heart of it?
In every major religion that has every graced this earth; before Man has come and twisted the words of wisdom and universal truths born out of EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM; at the heart of every belief system is love and goodwill towards mankind.
So at the end of this life, when you move on, how will you answer those two questions? Because, no matter what you believe or what religion you may follow, action speaks the loudest.
Live in Love
Go in Peace
I am sure this post will be controversial. But, before sharing your religious beliefs - answer those two questions. I am not interested in arguing about anyone's right to believe what they believe or not to believe, if they so choose. Just that beliefs should not be a substitute for doing what we are supposed to do while on this Earth. Love each other.
