Have Your Cake and Get it Too

This is a MOMent

Last night after a stressful evening searching frantically for a missing document, it was found to everyone's relief.  What better way to celebrate than to have some cake.

I'd just put our 14 month old down for the night and came out of the room.  I just wanted cake after the stress, but so I didn't set a horrible example, I ate a saucer size plate of dinner first.  I sat down on the sofa with my husband, my daughter, my 'dinner', and a big slice of cheesecake with cherries on top (my ultimate favorite).  My 10 year old sees my cake and wants some of the chocolate cake.  (No, I don't usually have cake in the house but it was dessert from the Easter dinner I cooked the day before.)



I tell her she can have a small slice and begin to eat my mini dinner so I can have my big dessert.  A couple minutes later she looks over and asks again if she can have cake.  I said "I told you you could have a small slice".  She says "I know", and pauses.  I say "It's on the counter."

She says,  "I thought you were gonna get it".

"Why would you think that?"

"Because that's what mommies do".

What have I done?

Hello from Mom Adored

Mom Adored is me adding my voice to the world.  I am wife and mom of two as well as an entrepreneur.  I realize there are highs and lows and days I don't know if I am going left or right, up or down, or just at some strange angle.

As women we are expected to be so many things to so many people.  Sometimes it's an expectation we put on ourselves, sometimes its one others put on us.  Either way, trying to be everything to everyone is hard, exhausting, and a reason to find and covet those rare MOMents where you can take some well deserved MomME time to remember that in addition to everything else you are and have to be - you gotta be you, too.

I sell on Etsy (just my Huggmis) and Bonanza (anything offered from Adored - my company) and welcome other mompreneurs trying to make our world happier, better, more comforting, and one in which we can be and feel adored.  I'm sure this will develop along the way.

Now, I should be trying to catch a 30 minute nap, if my baby would sleep just a little longer.  But before I do.... a few simple rules for Mom Adored blog.

My simple rules are that I never never post pics of my loved ones (I know...protective) and well, commenters who are mean and disrespectful to other readers and different opinions just won't be tolerated.
